While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no one is entitled to their own facts. The facts of climate change have been under siege for decades from the fossil fuel industry because the facts are damning. For more information on how the facts on climate change are subverted, check out the Climate Denial page.

  • Climate change is real.
  • Climate change is humanmade

What does the term “unambiguous certainty” mean? Before 2015, the number slung around was “97% of all climate scientists” believe that climate change is real. Who were these 3% of scientists who disagreed? One of the many Climate Denial campaigns was to sneak anti-climate change papers into the accepted journals. There were 34 articles that fit this category of disputing facts. In 2015, a team at a Texas university reexamined the 34 articles in depth and discovered that all of them either cherry-picked data or presented false conclusions, and all of the papers were written with malicious intent. After this review of academic articles, climate scientists unanimously agree with the two conclusions given above. Case closed.

TEDx introduction to climate change.

The only existing arguments among climate scientists (as opposed to scientists from other disciplines who do not have credentials in climate studies) are over the timelines of further damage to the planet. A vocal group argues that the estimates released to the public are too conservative. This group concludes that we are going to see irreversible changes sooner.

In any case, we only have until 2030 to cut our carbon emissions in half to stave off planet wide disaster. The first link below will take you to the science and the technology of climate change for non-scientists. The second link is an explanation of why all government action on climate change is delayed. The last link is an explanation of the nuts & bolts of what we need to do as citizens speaking to our government.
